Robert Klinck is a partner with Kotchen & Low LLP. His main practice areas include intellectual property litigation and complex commercial litigation.

Mr. Klinck has taken leadership roles in a number of complex commercial litigation matters involving a wide array of substantive areas, including patent infringement, antitrust, commercial torts, accounting and securities fraud, and breach of contract. Mr. Klinck has represented both plaintiffs and defendants in state and federal court cases, represented clients in agency proceedings, and conducted internal investigations.

Mr. Klinck has developed an expertise in patent litigation and licensing. He has assisted clients in developing strategies to monetize their intellectual property and has litigated contested patent infringement suits. Mr. Klinck has assisted clients with intellectual property spanning diverse technologies, including electronic commodity exchanges, medical devices, computer chips, wireless data transmission, and radio frequency identification.

Mr. Klinck previously served as an Assistant United States Attorney in the Northern District of Texas. In that role, Mr. Klinck developed his courtroom skills, trying eleven cases to juries, handling contested hearings, and conducting oral arguments before the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit. Mr. Klinck focused on prosecuting white collar crimes, including tax fraud, wire and mail fraud, and identity theft.

Mr. Klinck clerked for the Honorable Richard S. Arnold of the United States Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit. While clerking, Mr. Klinck also served as an adjunct professor at the William H. Bowen School of Law at the University of Arkansas, Little Rock.

Mr. Klinck graduated with honors from Harvard Law School, where he served as an Articles Editor of the Harvard Journal on Legislation. Mr. Klinck received his undergraduate degree from the University of Texas at Austin, where he graduated with High Honors.

Mr. Klinck was born and raised in McAllen, Texas, and he is an avid poker player and fan of the University of Texas football team.
